REFRESH Breakfast & Bible Study

The REFRESH Breakfast & Bible Study for youth grades 6-12 is held at the church on Wednesday mornings during the school year at 6:30 am.  It is a great time of food & fellowship. Some of the men who regularly arrive on Wednesday mornings at 5:30 am to prepare breakfast for the youth are Dennis Inboden, Larry Bonnell, Ron Veenstra, Gary Oxford, & John Brimberry.  We have a great time cooking a variety of menus (eggs, bacon, pancakes, breakfast burritos, biscuits & gravy, fruit salad, etc.).  We typically serve 30-35 kids each week.  Pastor Jay, Janelle Oxford, Nina Davis, and Brennan Tracy lead Bible study and prayer time for the youth after their breakfast.  Steve Diel takes anyone who needs a ride to school on the church bus after Bible study.  We would welcome anyone who would like to join us in this ministry----we're always looking for more cooks, dishwashers, & bus drivers!

2020-2021 Plan:

Refresh Student Ministries will look a little bit different for the 2020-2021 school year.  This year, students may be dropped off/arrive at the church at 6:45 am on their designated day (Tuesday for high school, beginning October 6; Thursday for middle school, beginning October 8).  Upon arrival, they will need to show their school health slip for the day.  Students will need to keep their belongings with them and go immediately to the order window to order breakfast, which will be prepared during Bible study.  Students will then need to take their belongings to the tables and chairs in the fellowship hall.  Students must wear a mask during the time that they are on church property, including during Bible study and while on church transportation.  In addition, they must social distance during their time on church property.

Bible study will conclude by 7:15 am.  Students will then return to the window to pick up their breakfast (which will be placed in a carry-out container with the student's name, including silverware and a bottled drink) and go to their designated transportation (self-transport for high school drivers, parent pick-up (if desired) or church bus); middle school students will go to their activity period classrooms to eat upon arrival at the school; high school students will go to the cafeteria to eat upon arrival.  Church transportation will be disinfected after each use; in the event that student numbers require multiple trips in order to transport students to school in a socially distant way, the church bus will be disinfected between trips.
